Benefits

Step into the only trail shoe with a foot-shaped toe box and max-cushioned Zero Drop platform. Named after one of the most prominent peaks in the Wasatch Mountains, the Olympus is designed to help you conquer any terrain. The flexible, max-cushioned Zero Drop platform and foot-shaped toe box combine to place your foot in a natural position for an efficient, stable trail or road running experience. Two-layer A-Bound™ cushioning offers flexible protection from the gnarly terrain or open road, although we will recommend learning and focusing on proper, low-impact technique. And because a max cushioned shoe reduces the workload on the feet, foot strengthening should be done to keep the foundation of the body strong. Dominate the trail, pavement and everything in between with the all-new Olympus.

I am 6-2 and 210 lbs with a bunion. I have tried several different brands of 4E shoes and these were too narrow. The second I tried on Altra Olympus I knew I had found a shoe and shoe company that was made for me. No problems at all with the bunion. They fit great and have improved my running greatl... Perfect Blend

The Olympus is a perfect blend of cushion and drop. I was nervous to go to a max cushion shoe, simply because of reports of a loss of speed. The Olympus is built far better. Speed is maintained and comfort is crazy good. I am currently using this shoe primarily on road but it can go trail or gravel ... (Read more)

I received my Olympus shoes on Wednesday 3/5/2014 a snug fit, but within tolerance. I was in last couple of days of my taper for a race on Saturday, so I put the shoes on to walk around a bit in the mall and around the house. During my 12 hour times ULTRA race on Saturday the Olympus shoes felt grea... (Read more)

Recovering from injuries and finding this shoe may give me another 30 years of running (if I live to be 90)!

I have ran about 50 miles on Colorado technical trails in this model and this shoe is awesome. This time of the year the trails are icey, muddy and wet and I never had an issue. For a highly cushioned shoe, I still had great "trail" feel and was always confident of every step. The only negative thing... (Read more)
Nice Running Shoe

I just ordered another pair of The Olympus because the shoe works for me. Just two comments: I do not like the shoe strings as they are flat and seem to cut into the shoe. I like the shoe strings that come with the Lone Peaks which are round. Also, I cannot lace the shoe up to the top eyelet beca... (Read more)

I have been using the Torin and the Loan Peak for a few months now for my everyday runs. I do crossfit during the mornings and run in the afternoons. I am totally satisfied with these two Altras that I am using. My Olympus arrived last week and I have been testing in on short runs for the past few d... (Read more)

My first trial hike of 7 miles with my new Altra Olympus shoes. Wow what a difference from my old hiking boots. My feet felt great afterwards and they absorb the shock of all the rocks, roots, and downhill steps with no issues. These shoes are awesome!

First pairs of Altra's ever. I am loving the zero drop and max cushioning. So far with two trail runs consisting of fire road, single track, switchbacks, hard pack, gravel, lots ascents and descents i have logged 22 miles. This shoe is like a cross between a Jeep and a Cadillac. The shoe climbs grea... (Read more)

I am a 200 pound ultra runner with a 14-15 shoe size. Not exactly ideal. From 5 fingers to Hokas, NB, Saucony, I have tried many shoes. To date, the 5 fingers were the only ones that did not bother my knees, but I limited their use to short runs up to 12-13 miles. For 50miler and longer runs I wore ... (Read more)

I have run a handful of 50 miles ultras and have had small injuries in most of them. This is the result of age and terrain issues. For a couple of years I have resisted the Hokas hoping Altra released something similar. Well, The Olympus are here and they are glorious. These are exactly what I hav... (Read more)

Altra hit it out of the park with this new edition! I have used all the current lie up from the Adams, ones, instincts, superiors, Torins and now The Olympus! Ran 22 miles this weekend and didnt even feel my feet at all striking the ground. I'm a firm believer of changing up your footwear depending ... (Read more)

I've run the last six months in Hoka's. However, I started to realize my running form was getting sloppy. So I decided to buy a pair of Lone Peaks to alternate twice a week with my Hoka's and they were a game changer. No injuries and better running form. So when the Olympus were released I was supe... I have run a number of ultras in the 50K to 50 mile range in the original Instincts and they have been super except that my feel feel pretty beat up after the mileage adds up. I recently paced a friend in the last 40 of his 100 miler while wearing the Olympus and they had the same great fit of the ... (Read more)

Great running shoe. I've ran in the instincts 1.5 & the Torins for over a year. Those are great shoes, but the Olympus are in a class by themselves. Received them a couple of weeks ago. Put over 60 miles on them & couldn't be happier.

I definitely think these are a good alternative to Hokas. After a 50k long run on all kind of surfaces my legs and feet didn't feel beaten up. I wish they were even lighter. More details here: http://youtu.be/LZX818VvZFM

These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever had! I've used them on trails and on pavement, they work well on both. I know these shoes are designed for long distances, ultra-marathons, etc. but they are equally impressive for average Joe's who just want great comfort and need more cushion. I love ... (Read more)
