Just came home from my local running store wearing a new pair of Intuition 1.5s. Been running two years in Vibram Bikilas, Merrell Barefoot Pace Gloves, and most recently added the Brooks Pure Grit to my line up to have something with a little cushioning for really long runs. Knee Pain to Zero [Drop] Pain

After dealing with chronic knee pain I resorted to less road time and cardio on an elliptical. Still itching to get on the road, I went to a second fitting at a running store and left in a pair good shoes. I loved them (and still do for short runs) but when my miles began increasing I noticed the pa... (Read more)

I tried on the original Intuition and felt like it was too much shoe. I have a pair of the Delilah's and like them, but, I LOVE the Intuition 1.5! This second generation from Altra is fantastic! Since adopting a new running style, I did not realize that my calf problems were related to the inabili... (Read more)

I've been wearing my fuschia Intuitions for the past month, and I honestly never want to take them off. I got them for running/walking but wear them often just for out and about, I rarely have foot fatigue, and must get an additional pair before these are spent. I love that they are made for feet ... I loved to run - and did so for many years - however, after several foot and ankle injuries my running sneakers were tabled forever - or so I thought. A friend suggested moving to a minimalist shoe - I was astounded - I was able to run pain free for the first time in years with complete stability. I... (Read more)
Room for your toes!
By MinnesotanIce on Oct 8, 2012
Average Rating: 5.0 / 5.0
This shoe has a generous amount of space in the toe box. This was a big bonus for me since my New Balance Minimus road shoes are zero drop with the right amount of cushioning but too narrow in the toe box. When running for more than an hour at a time the tips of my toes would get calloused. The toe ... (Read more)

These shoes have improved my running immensely. I have had so many people ask me where I bought them because they're such a cute shape. They're super comfortable, lightweight, spacious in the toe area. Best sneakers I've ever purchased. Love the look, feel, everything!

I have been reading about Altra for a bit over a year, but was cautious to buy a new-ish brand. I should also mention that, like other reviewers, I got my Altra's a half a size larger than I usually wear. I tried on my usual size 8 and they felt just a tiny bit snug. I was almost tempted to walk out with those but really glad I tried on the 8.5's. It's a much better fit.

I'm running in my second pair of Altras and unfortunately, probably my last. The heel fit just doesn't suffice for someone with narrow heels. I really like the shape of this shoe. Great roomy toe box area. And no stripes or extra sewn on bits that create friction areas on the interior.
