Comments: Never having worn the Lone Peak, this is my first experience with an Altra trail shoe. I ended up having to step up a size from 9.5 to 10. They do lack a little in the toe box when compared to my Instincts but that has not seemed to affect me on the trails. Very light, almost a slipper-like quality. A bit concerned about the durability of the support strings along the sides of the shoe but no issues as of yet. I run mostly on rolling singletrack trails in wooded areas and they have performed well. Ran without the stone guard to begin with and then put it back in as I was definitely feeling the roots/rocks. I would probably not use these on really rough terrain...of course, I think that was the purpose of developing these shoes as opposed to the Lone Peaks. Overall, really like the shoe...they breathe well, traction was good. The main selling point to me is the Zero Drop...leaves my lower legs and feet feeling good after a run. May have to purchase the Lone Peaks as well for comparison.
