Comments: Just did a quick 6 miles up and down a muddy mountain in Bellingham, WA...these things really took to the mud and rocks and protected my feet as I bombed down slopes I would otherwise take it easy on. Going up the mountain, this minimalist runner was a little bothered by the extra weight (used to running in NB 101 and Merrel barefoot shoes. However, the protection they offered for the descent was awesome! I still need to put some miles in them to really be sold...but so far I would say this shoe is exactly as advertised...a tank of a shoe that encourages good form and really protects for long runs in rough mountains. I would recommend wearing these in combination with more minimalist footwear for shorter runs... (But if you are not used to minimalist running please take it slow!)
