The race is considered one of the most prestigious ultramarathons in the world but is also widely regarded as one of the most challenging, thanks largely in part to its total elevation gain of nearly 33,000 feet. First held in 2003, the UTMB has grown each year, this year including nearly 10,000 starters across seven events, making it one of the largest foot races in the world. People come from all over the globe to enjoy the race’s week-long festival in Chamonix, France.

The UTMB week includes seven different race distances. The Altra athletes will be competing in the UTMB: Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (171k) and the CCC: Courmayeur—Champex—Chamonix (101k).

This year’s UTMB begins at 1:30 am MSD on Monday, August 26 and ends on Sunday, September first.

We are proud to support the Altra athletes who will be competing in this year’s event.

Amanda Basham, Ultra-Trail Courmayeur-Champex-Chamonix (CCC), 101km

After a top-20 finish at UTMN in 2017, Amanda is back to take on CCC with her eyes set on a top-5 finish. Amanda also have two 4th place finishes at Western States 100m and two victories at UROC 100k.
