Discover Women’s Wide Shoes From Altra Running

Finding good women’s wide shoes for running can be challenging. But you’ve come to the right place. Altra Running shoes are made for any terrain, from peak-bagging to gym floors. And our signature FootShape Fits make more room for your toes– whether you need a wide size or not. more room for your toes– whether you need a wide size or not.

Trail runners are in luck. The base model from our Women’s Lone Peak Family, our flagship lineup of versatile trail warriors, comes in wide sizes for women. These powerhouses are as comfortable on day hikes as they are on everyday trail runs

Our Women’s Paradigm model is also available in a wide size for women. These supportive and cushioned running shoes are great for all-day walking as well as road miles of any kind.

Why Altra Makes Good Women’s Running Shoes for Wide Feet

Our FootShape Fits tell the story. Altra shoes are shaped differently from most running shoes. Instead of scrunching the front of your foot into tight spaces, Altra shoes come with a roomy toe box. The goal of the toe box is to allow your toes to splay naturally, facilitating a stride that is balanced and as close as possible to the way you run barefoot. a stride that is balanced and as close as possible to the way you run barefoot.

Wide Shoes vs. Roomy Toe Box: The Difference Matters

All of our shoes are built with a roomy toe box. But that’s not the same thing as a wide shoe. Wide shoes have more room in the midfoot, not necessarily the toe box. In all Altra models, the toe box is wide, but the midfoot shape varies by model.

Our models come in three midfoot shapes: Original, Standard, and Slim. Our Original midfoot shape is most akin to a wide shoe. Several of our models come in wide sizes. But if you can’t get your preferred model in a wide size, the Original midfoot might have room enough to feel similar to other wide shoes.

How to Find Good Women’s Running Shoes for Wide Feet

No matter what running shoe you’re looking for, the standard midfoot in our Original FootShape might be just the thing for wide-footed runners, even if they’re not an explicitly wide size.

Explore our Shoe Finder to see our shoe styles. All of our purchases come with a 30-Day Trial Run Guarantee, so you can be sure that these shoes fit like a dream.
