How Altra's Shoe Quiz Can Find the Right Shoe for You

If you’re a new runner, the task of buying a new pair of running shoes can be daunting. There are so many factors to consider, from trail vs. road running shoes to details like stack height and outsoles. And what about cushioning? The names of the models might sound interesting, but what kind of running is each model best for?

Our running shoe quiz is the perfect place to start. Answer just a few more questions, and you’ll have three hand-picked Altra models tailored to your situation. Then you’ll really hit the ground running.

How Altra’s Running Shoe Quiz Works

The goal of our Altra Running Shoe Finder Quiz is to match your goals for your shoes with the models that meet those needs. It takes no time, and you’ll be instantly matched with several Altra models to choose from.

Here’s how it works:

Tell us what activity that you want to do with your new shoes. This might be running, walking, hiking, racing, or going to the gym. If you’re hiking, we’ll ask you if you hike in dry or cold, wet areas. And if you’re a gym-goer, we’ll be curious what kind of exercises you like to do.

If it’s relevant, we’ll ask you what kind of terrain you’re planning to run on. Trail running shoes are what we’re known for, but we also have road shoes that new runners will love. If you’re looking for walking shoes, we’ll ask where you tend to stroll.

If you’re looking for shoes for racing, we’ll ask what distance you’re going to take on and your goals for the race.

We’ll probably ask you to choose the underfoot experience you’re imagining. Want to feel like you’re floating, or do you like to feel the ground close to your feet?

After all that, you can choose a preferred gender for sizing, whether you’re looking for men’s or women’s shoes.

That’s all there is to it!

Why You Should Use Altra’s Running Shoe Quiz

When you start your running journey, a pair of running shoes is essential equipment to every athlete. Finding a running shoe that matches your goals and the conditions you run are key to helping you Stay Out There™ for a lifetime of running, whatever that looks like for you.

Take advantage of our running shoe quiz and match up with a pair that fits perfectly, in every possible way.
